Several Fixtures Slowing at Once
If a sink, a tub, and a toilet all slow down together, the restriction is in the shared branch or the main, not in any one trap.

OUR SERVICES
Drain cleaning for Clive homes and businesses on both sides of the county line. Cabling, hydro jetting, and camera verification on every main line we clear.
OVERVIEW
Clive straddles two counties, with everything west of NW 142nd Street sitting in Dallas County and everything east of it in Polk. The housing follows that line in age as well. Median build year across the city is around 1995, so we work on a mix of mid-1990s PVC in the older neighborhoods and much newer pipe out west, and the blockages differ accordingly.
Clive Public Works maintains 102 miles of water main and about 82 miles of local sanitary sewer, with treatment handled through the regional wastewater authority. What none of that covers is the private lateral running from your house to the city main. That pipe is yours, and it is the one we camera after every main line cleaning.
All work is performed in compliance with the 2024 Uniform Plumbing Code as adopted by the State of Iowa.

WARNING SIGNS
Catching a restricted line early is the difference between a service call and a finished basement claim.
If a sink, a tub, and a toilet all slow down together, the restriction is in the shared branch or the main, not in any one trap.
A basement floor drain is the lowest opening in the system. Water appearing there is a main line problem announcing itself.
Grease coats the pipe wall a little more with every wash cycle. Once a kitchen line clogs on a schedule, cabling alone stops being enough.
A washing machine dumps a large volume fast. If the line gurgles or backs up only during a drain cycle, it is already partly restricted.
The east side of Clive has enough mature landscaping to matter. Roots find moisture at pipe joints and come back season after season.
Usually a dried out trap in a basement bathroom or floor drain. Occasionally a vent or drain break, which is worth ruling out properly.
DRAIN CLEANING SERVICES
From a single slow fixture to the lateral under the driveway.
The most common repeat clog in Clive homes. Jetting takes the pipe back toward full diameter instead of boring a channel through the grease.
Hair and soap bind into a mat at the trap arm. We remove it rather than push it into the branch line for later.
We clear the obstruction, then check the closet flange and wax seal, which frequently take damage during a backup.
Lint and detergent build a film in a standpipe. Easy to ignore right up until it overflows onto the floor.
The private line from your home to the Clive sewer main is the property owner responsibility. Cable or jet, then camera the full run.
Clive offices, clinics, and restaurants on a scheduled jetting interval so the line never reaches the backup stage.
WHY CLOG BUSTERS
Diagnose, clear, verify with a camera, and tell you what we saw.
We work out which fixtures are affected and where the line runs before opening any access point, which usually avoids a wasted entry.
Cable machines for roots and solid obstructions, hydro jetting for grease and scale. The blockage decides the tool, not the schedule.
We put a camera down the line and record what is there, from the fixture to the connection at the city main.
Clive requires contractors to register with the city on top of the State of Iowa license, and permits run through Construction Services in Community Development.
A full volume flow test confirms the line carries, then we clean the work area before we pack up.

Routine drain cleaning does not. Plumbing installation and repair does, and it runs through the Construction Services Division in Clive Community Development. Clive also requires contractors to register with the city on top of their State of Iowa license.
Clive spans both. Homes west of NW 142nd Street sit in Dallas County and homes east of it in Polk County, but city permits go through Clive itself either way.
You are. Clive Public Works maintains roughly 82 miles of public sanitary sewer, but the private lateral running from your building to that main belongs to the property owner.
A household line only when it slows. A commercial kitchen benefits from a set interval, because an emergency call during service costs far more than scheduled maintenance.
In sound pipe, yes. We camera the line before jetting so we are not putting pressure into a lateral that is already cracked or offset. If we find that, we tell you before touching it.
A drain that clogs on a schedule almost always has a physical cause: a belly holding water, an offset joint, root intrusion, or heavy grease. The camera identifies which.
Yes. Offices, clinics, restaurants, and multi-unit residential, including scheduled jetting so the line is maintained rather than repaired.
We are about nine and a half miles away and we run 24 hours, so same-day is normal and an active backup moves to the front of the queue.
